Aviate – Identify Activities to
Build Skills
The Demonstrated Skills Assessment is the
first step to add specific tasks to a Personal Training
Scenario. PTS tasks rated in the
assessment as less than PTS standards should be the first
priority.
In this chapter we will investigate
additional PTS standards that may be used on the Personal Training
Scenario. Additionally we will review
“beyond the PTS” tasks to develop additional skills, and can work to
provide piloting confidence.

In addition to the
Private Pilot PTS tasks for the first step, a private pilot can outline
tasks from the
Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot - Airplane PTS to use in their Training
Scenario. Click on the links below to
review some of the Aviate tasks in the Commercial Pilot
PTS.
This process can be
used for any pilot rating or category of aircraft.
